“Spring Ahead”
Our union was decreed
by Heavenly Hands
but we live not in Eden,
nay, on waterless lands.
So, as we press on
in this arid terrain,
we hunger and thirst
for food and for rain.
And remember the story
of our fathers and mothers
who from Marah to Elim
had just seven miles to cover.
Thus, let us take hope,
this is only a test
for the Good Lord up above
longs to give us His best.
So, if you`ve gone left
to where He has lead
but thought that the right
appeared better instead...
...well, it just might be
to get to those springs
you had to learn some tough lessons—
put away childish things.
For the Good Lord up above
in His wisdom and love,
asks us not to doubt
and our hearts not to sway
but like children to trust, and like soldiers obey.

“But God…“
“Revival Vows”
Divorce it tears
parents apart;
and so, too, it does
a child`s heart.
Perhaps, its pride
that wiley thing
that keeps us from
reconciling.
Point the finger,
cast the blame--
childish things--
we`re all the same.
A broken heart,
a bruised cheek:
His commandments
are hard to keep.
Yet, He didn`t
cast the blame
or point the finger
but, bore our sin and shame.
Though its tough,
downright grim:
Put your faith
and hope in Him.
For He made dry bones
come alive;
so, too, dead marriages
He can revive !

“The Pruning Process”
The tree is still green,
the sap it still flows
although the`re dead branches
and though the`re dead boughs.
But our Gardner`s gentle,
He takes tender care
in pruning what`s needful
right here and right there.
His work it seems harsh,
“Oh, what a sight !”
It shocks and alarms
and may even cause fright.
But, give it some time
and again buds we`ll see—
fragrant blossoms,
clothed in His glory.
