“Icebox”
The heart of Christ
is encased in ice
as the enemy fights
to entice
a world gone wrong
who`ve lost their song,
being led astray
by satan`s throng.
And the learn`ed debate
theology
while denominations
argue and disagree
as we sit in pews
a day or two,
preferring milk
to beef stew.
They preach to us
and teach to us
but is His Spirit in it
so they reach to us ?
Well, I`ve been down
way too long;
I`m sick and tired
of satan`s throng.
I despise the lies
that would do me in
but with eyes of compassion
I see other`s sin.
Pray, across this planet
one last wave
of mercy needed
before `That Day.`
Remember friend:
If Gideon did it
we can, too !
And, Elijah was a man
just like me and you !

“Life Savers”
Sail not on
O holy boat
passing sinners
still afloat.
Although the Promised Land
be in sight
and soon we`ll be
in Paradise;
Kick not up your feet
as time winds down;
be not content
with your own crown.
For there still are many
whom to usher in.
For it`s up to us
whether they sink or swim.
And remember Jesus
who until His last breath
sought to save us
from sin and death.
Again, I say,
Let`s be like the Savior
and take the plunge
and be a life saver.

“A Poet`s Dilemma”
We sit in the pew
one day a week, maybe two
as we grope and we grasp
searching for truth...
We hope they`ll deliver;
We hope they`ll inspire;
We hope they`ll give hope
and lift us up higher.
But such is the case
for most but not all
who treat it less like a pulpit
and more as a pedestal.
So, they build their mega-churches
to house the large crowds
as they grow fat and complacent
and spiritually proud.
Better to be
on the outside than in
to avoid this `religion`
of folly and sin.
Again, such is the case
for most but not all;
it`s blind guides for the blind
thus, in a pit they will fall.
They`ve forgotten the One
who they claim to know
with their watered-down gospel
that steps on no toes.
I pray least for me
for the courage I need
to speak what is painful
though in the end I may bleed.
