“Balloon to the Moon”

“Plea to the Pleiades”

If I could sail
by hot air balloon
I`d set my course
for the moon.

And once arrived
I`d seek the man
or bunny who lives
in lunar sand.

I`d make their acquaintance
on bended knee,
as with King or Queen,
in humility.

Remembering when
the moon`s face did shine
with gentle beams,
caressing mine.

And I`d recall
to my delight
the times I found
`gold by moonlight.`

And when as a child
the moon seemed to chase
and watch over me
from place to place.

Then, so as not
to overstay
their warm welcome
without delay,

I`d depart
from that tranquil sea
and set my course
for the Pleiades;

Or maybe for
deep, deep space
in search of Andromeda,
another time or place.

That in doing so
I may find
a friend or two
with a heart like mine.
