Yeah, love is patient; love is kind and all of that...but, it is not just those sweet and lovely things— for love, too, is agony...!
Love is, clinging to someone with all your might as they simultaneously drive a spike into your heart and push you away...
And, that is I think, what each of us has done (at some point) to Jesus Christ; and this patience, this kindness, is still His loving attitude of endurance and perseverance toward this foolish and rebellious world.

“Hosea Still Loves hoMEr”
I once read a story I can not forget about Hosea`s wife, the unfaithful harlot.
Time and again, he went after her to bring her back home and serve and love her.
He painted her toes and brushed her long hair— to the one that he loved, he showed tender care.
But she forsook he— time and again— and sought other lovers, hurting her only true friend.
And because she did miss the love that was given she did blindly persist in sinful livin`.
Yet, then even though with a broken heart, Hosea prized Homer like a fine work of art.
He treasured the one although time after time she did shun his love for her as she often would run...
But that stubborn love that Hosea did show was selfless and free, not a thing being owed—
So, you see that although his heart it did grieve— time and again— without any reprieve,
by sheer will alone Jehovah`s love for us was then shown which transcends all feeling and gives to harlots, a home.

“Fixer-Upper”
I`ve hurt you and you`ve hurt me. Now we stand as a storm battered tree.
Our roots run deep, our foundation set; but as for the structure is there much left ?
Now, night has come— keep the ghosts at bay— I reach for your hand, I`m here to stay.
You`ve not changed much— your face I see— still as beautiful as it used to be.
So, from here where do we go ? Only two things that I know:
Put up a roof on a rebuilt frame and on our door, again hang His name.
Hold your calls I`ll be home for supper, after all, we`re a `Fixer-Upper !`
